People's Conference Hall in Tripoli, Libya
Project Background
The People's Conference Hall is located on the western edge of Tripoli's city center, prominently situated along the Mediterranean waterfront. Designed to host significant political gatherings, the project also provides versatile spaces for meetings and cultural conferences. The hall, designed by the renowned architect Zaha Hadid, encompasses a total area of approximately 69,644 square meters.
Architectural Design
The architectural design of the People's Conference Hall is characterized by its unique and futuristic style, reflecting the forward-thinking vision of the city. The design seamlessly integrates modern aesthetic elements with functional requirements, creating a comprehensive environment that combines luxury with efficiency.
Exterior Design:
- The building features a dynamic façade that undulates like waves, reflecting the movement of the Mediterranean Sea and giving a sense of continuous motion.
- High-quality materials were used to ensure the building's sustainability and resilience to environmental factors.
Interior Layout: The project includes expansive and varied spaces that are strategically distributed to meet the needs of different events. The main components of the building include:

- Conference Hall A (Hall A):
- Area: 2,056 sqm
- Capacity: 3,055 people
- Features: VIP and VVIP entrances, multiple-level public entrance, café, refreshment services, and restrooms.
- Conference Hall B (Hall B):
- Area: 526 sqm
- Capacity: 500 people
- Features: Movable wall that opens to the grand lobby, movable stage for various events.
- Conference Hall C (Hall C):
- Area: 1,320 sqm
- Capacity: 1,516 people
- Features: Designed for theatrical performances with a movable stage and an orchestra pit.
- Conference Hall A (Hall A):
- Meeting Rooms:
- 38 meeting rooms with a total area of 3,960 sqm, including VIP/VVIP meeting rooms ranging from 25 sqm to over 120 sqm, providing high flexibility for multiple uses.
- Public Spaces:
- Grand Lobby: 1,690 sqm, serving as a major gathering point for visitors and participants.
- Entrance Lobby: 1,107 sqm, creating a magnificent first impression upon entry.
- Banquet and Event Spaces: Totaling 2,797 sqm, designed to host large-scale events and banquets.
- Restaurants and Cafes:
- Main Restaurant: Serving 500 people with an area of 2,839 sqm, including a large bar distributed around the grand lobby and side lobbies.
- Main Kitchen: Located on the third floor, providing direct service to the restaurant.
- Administrative and Support Offices:
- Offices for administrative staff and employee facilities such as changing rooms and a staff canteen, with a total area of 9,465 sqm.
- Security checkpoints at all entrances to ensure safety and security.
- VIP and VVIP Facilities:
- VIP Area: 3,111 sqm
- VVIP Lounge: 1,160 sqm
