Project Overview

The Primary School project is located in the densely populated area of Al-Laythi in Benghazi, Libya. This project aims to address the educational needs of this vibrant community by providing a modern and fully integrated learning environment. The strategic location of the school within this residential area ensures easy access for students from the surrounding neighborhoods, whether they arrive on foot or by various means of transportation.

Architectural Concept

The architectural design of the school focuses on creating educational spaces that integrate seamlessly with the urban surroundings, emphasizing a safe and comfortable environment that promotes social interaction and active learning. The school is designed to accommodate a large number of students, catering to the needs of the local community.

Key Design Features:

  • Central Courtyard: The courtyard is the heart of the school, with the building surrounding it to enhance student interaction and provide an open space for a variety of activities. This courtyard is designed to be multifunctional, allowing it to serve as a playground, a venue for school events, and even as an outdoor classroom.
  • Design Accommodating High Density: Given that the school is located in a densely populated area, the building is designed to accommodate a large number of students while maintaining ease of movement within the school.
  • Sustainability: The design maximizes the use of natural light and ventilation within the building, reducing the need for reliance on artificial energy sources.

Facilities and Spaces

The school comprises a variety of facilities designed to meet the needs of students, teachers, and the local community. The spaces are distributed to ensure optimal use of the site.

  1. Ground Floor:
    • Entrance and Main Yard: The main entrance leads into the school yard, serving as a central gathering space for daily student activities.
